Adamantine
Adamantine is a rare and incredibly durable metal found within the mines of Kazad-Khrom. When properly forged, it takes on a dark, mirror-like finish that is cold to the touch and reflects no light.
Properties and Use
The metal's key property is its ability to purge Dreamstone residue and act as a "dream-mirror." When placed against a source of dream-energy, such as a fissure leaking Dreamstone radiation, it reflects that energy back, creating a containment feedback loop. This makes it an essential material for sealing breaches related to the prison of The Black Slumber.
Recent History
Raw adamantine ore was stored in material stores near The Cold Forge. Using the reignited forge and the heat of Ignathar, several adamantine plates were forged. Two of these plates were used to permanently seal a critical Dreamstone fissure in the Dwarven Layer, dramatically reducing radiation leakage and reinforcing the ancient containment.
