Cold Forge
The Cold Forge is the primary industrial facility within the upper Dwarven Layer of the Asymmetrical Mountain, originally the production heart of the dwarven settlement.
Structure and History
The forge is a cathedral-like chamber approximately eighty feet across with a domed ceiling forty feet high. Its centerpiece is a twenty-foot diameter hearth surrounded by six massive anvils, with a large chimney shaft for ventilation. The complex includes adjacent material stores, apprentice workshops, and a network of dry cooling channels. It was historically powered by a bound Fire Elemental, Ignathar, and lay dormant for centuries following the settlement's collapse.
Reactivation and Current Status
The forge has been successfully reignited. Its reactivation restored industrial-scale metalworking capability deep within the mountain and began to warm the surrounding passages. With the acquisition of the Dwarven Master Forge Key and the activation of the mountain's pump system to provide coolant, the forge can now operate at full capacity, enabling advanced work such as shaping adamantine.
