Core Prototype
The Core Prototype is a pulsing geometric crystal that served as the vital stabilization component for Project Amalgamation.
Function
The crystal was designed to be integrated into the chest cavity of Subject Gamma|Subject Alpha (the Amalgamation) to catalyze and maintain its final, stable form as Subject Gamma. Without it, the subject remained trapped in a painful state of flux between flesh and stone.
History
The prototype was created by Secretive Brotherhood researchers but was deemed to have "insufficient stability" on its own. It was later removed as a means of controlling the Amalgamation. For two centuries, it was preserved under a glass dome in the West Wing of The Grand Archive.
Use
The crystal was retrieved and placed into the Amalgamation's empty chest cavity, where it dissolved into shimmering energy. Combined with a modified experimental elixir, it successfully facilitated the subject's transformation into its intended guardian form.
