Korathan
Korathan is the Master Runecarver of the Architect's Council and the primary architect of the containment vessel for The First World Sleeper.
Biography and Role
Korathan was the Giant architect who discovered the reality-warping Sleeper and led the monumental project to contain it. Following the Architect's Council's decision to choose containment over destruction, he designed and oversaw the construction of the vessel, a work that spanned three centuries.
The Long Vigil
After the vessel's completion, Korathan entered a state of magical stasis within The Maker's Rest, a condition described in Giant epitaphs as "the long watch." This serves as a final contingency; should the containment fail, Korathan could be awakened to enact repairs.
Legacy
Korathan encoded his consciousness and technical knowledge within the runes of his burial chamber. This archive contains the master templates and scaling runes necessary for smaller beings to reinforce the containment. His final message revealed the vessel's hundred-thousand-year design lifespan, a timeline now at its midpoint.
