Pump Station East
Pump Station East is a major dwarven engineering installation located in the northern branch of the minecart network within Kazad-Khrom. It is designed to drain the lower levels of the Dwarven Layer using geothermal pressure differentials.
Function and Design
The station houses three massive geothermal pump assemblies, each standing fifteen feet tall. These systems tap into the mountain's internal heat to push water up and out of the lower strata. The facility is the primary control point for the drainage of the submerged lower Dwarven Layer, which contains critical infrastructure and access routes to the Giant foundation level.
Current Status
The station was found to be offline and systematically sabotaged. Pump One's intake valve was sealed with a black, regenerative organic resin. Pump Two's connecting pipes were severed, and Pump Three's control mechanism was disassembled. The sabotage was the work of the The Twisted|Twisted. Following repairs, Pump Three was restored to approximately 85% operational capacity, initiating a drainage process. The station also guards access to the Drowned Chokepoint, a master drainage control hatch located beneath the chamber floor.
